Glow at The Exploratorium

Glow at Exploratorium's After Dark First Thursday in December

Visit the Exploratorium to excite your atoms at Glow, the annual festival of ebullient lights and subtle glows, on Thursday Dec. 7, 2017. Bask in the mesmerizing gleams of interactive installations and kinetic sculptures, and celebrate the close of the year.

Glow is part of the Exploratorium's After Dark Thursday Night series. Doors are kept open past regular closing time for adults only, and visitors can enjoy a fascinating array of unique programs and events while sipping cocktails and experiencing the museum's 650-plus hands-on exhibits. Always popular - and available during After Dark Thursday Nights - is the museum's Tactile Dome, where visitors can crawl, slide and bump their way through the pitch-dark Dome using only the sense of touch as a guide through its chambers and mazes.

Located on the Embarcadero on Pier 15, the Exploratorium also offers superb waterfront views of San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. The glass-walled Fisher Observatory Gallery has sweeping views of the skyline and Coit Tower. In-house restaurant SEAGLASS also extends its Thursday hours to 9:30 p.m. to offer its multicultural, locally sourced menu to After Dark visitors.

Visit The Exploratorium Glow on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6–10 p.m. Tickets may be purchased on-site or online at exploratorium.edu. An additional charge applies to the Tactile Dome. Admission is limited to adults 18 and older.

Note: Some programs have limited seating and will be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
