Made in San Francisco: 4 Holiday Markets and Fairs Where You Can Find the Perfect Holiday Gift

Finding the perfect holiday gift can be one of the most exciting, if not challenging, parts of the entire holiday season. If you're fortunate enough to live in or visit San Francisco, there are several unique holiday markets where shopping for the holidays becomes fun and easy.

Each year, these four holiday markets attract thousands of people who get to enjoy the shared experience of unique and handcrafted holiday gifts alongside some of the most important and iconic cultural institutions in San Francisco.

If you're in the San Francisco area during any of these events, make it a point to stop by. Your family and friends will thank you when they receive their incredible gifts!

Creativity Explored Holiday Art Shop Opening Party

More than 135 artists will be showing their works at Creativity Explored on Nov. 30, 2017. There's no limit to what's on display: prints, ceramics, textiles, and more. Make sure you use your time in the gallery wisely; this event is one night only, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Crafted SF

Visit swanky Nob Hill on Dec. 2 and 3 for Crafted SF's holiday showcase, which focuses on ceramics and jewelry made by local artists. The event lasts from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

San Francisco Bazaar at the California Academy of Sciences

The San Francisco Bazaar at the California Academy of Sciences is a popular event that takes place every holiday season. It's an opportunity for people to enjoy the exhibits within the Academy of Sciences while also looking at a variety of handcrafted products that make perfect holiday gifts. This year, the bazaar will take place on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. If you're interested in checking out the Planetarium or the Rainforest dome, make sure to get there as early as possible, since these exhibits close relatively early in the evening.

SFMade Holiday Gift Fair

This holiday gift fair is an opportunity for holiday shoppers to purchase some of the most unique items on the market. Each vendor is vetted to ensure that their offerings will be the most interesting--and valuable--to attendees. At the fair, shoppers can find everything from artisan and specialty food items and handmade clothing to holiday cards and gift boxes suitable for any age. The event itself takes place on Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Don't forget that you can also find handcrafted San Francisco originals at each of our Visitor Information Centers. Happy shopping!
