San Francisco’s iconic Westin St. Francis, has completed an extensive renovation of 50,000 square feet of meeting and special event space in both the Landmark and Tower buildings. Thirty rooms were renovated including: the Grand Ballroom; the Colonial Room appointed with classic Italian murals, elaborate candelabras, and gold-leafed columns separating regal opera balconies; the elaborate Italian Room; the Borgia Room with its jewel-like ceiling that was originally the hotel chapel; and the sophisticated St. Francis Suite, the former home of the Pope Family for many years.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors Approves Award of SFO Hotel Management and Branding Contract to Grand Hyatt

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution approving award by the San Francisco Airport Commission of a management and branding contract to the Grand Hyatt for a planned 350-room, four-star luxury hotel located on the grounds of the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which is anticipated to open in mid-2019. The Board resolution is subject to the approval of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
SFO will construct and own the property, with the Grand Hyatt providing branding and day-to-day management of the facility. The SFO Grand Hyatt will feature approximately 350 rooms, 17,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, both full-service and casual restaurants, wine and sushi bar, rooftop cocktail lounge, health club, pool, and spa. Located at the entrance to SFO, the 4.7 acre site is close to terminal buildings and parking garages, with direct access to the AirTrain light rail system. Construction on the project is expected to begin in the spring of 2016, with completion in mid-2019. The facility will also be designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) “Gold” certification for environmentally-sustainable.

On Feb. 18, 2015, Hilton Worldwide announced the closing of the acquisition of Parc 55 Wyndham San Francisco - Union Square. The new lounge is now open and is an ideal in-hotel getaway for guests to recline, surf the Internet, read or even conduct a meeting. The energized yet-sophisticated colors, fabrics and textures of the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams sofas and chairs and lighting and accessories from Oly Studios and Visual Comfort will make guests feel right at home. Boasting fashion forward colors and an engaging staff, Hotel Diva also features a walk-of-fame sidewalk showcasing the names of celebrity guests who frequent the Diva. The lounge is open during normal business hours, and guests can access the room by obtaining a pass from the Hotel Diva front desk. The Ruby Lounge is also available for booking small meetings (by appointment only).

The Grand Hyatt San Francisco completed a renovation of all 685 guestrooms and suites. Project highlights include works by Bay Area-artists showcased in the rooms, flat-screen TVs and wireless or wired high-speed Internet access. The new Grand Club rooms, on floors 30 through 34, feature one-touch controls for lights and shades and hardwood floors made from sustainably harvested, chemical-free wood.

The Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, a geothermal hot springs resort, completed an extensive renovation in May. Located in downtown Calistoga, the 56-room hotel and spa was completely redesigned with a contemporary spa inspired look and feel. The 18-month renovation touched all aspects of the property including a redesign of the guestrooms with spa-inspired bedding, honed Italian porcelain tile showers, kitchenettes with microwave ovens and modern conveniences such as high definition LED televisions. The focal points of the renovation are the four geothermal heated mineral pools. The pool deck was fitted with travertine tiles, new designer-inspired pool furniture and the inclusion of grape covered arbors. Known for the therapeutic, geothermal heated mineral water and volcanic ash mud baths, the Calistoga Spa Hot Springs has been serving guests in the upper Napa Valley for nearly 50 years.

The 489-room Oakland Marriott City Center has completed its interior renovations as a part of its $17 million reinvention. Changes include extensive upgrades to the lobby, ballrooms, guestrooms, meeting and event space, Skyline Room, and the new Great Room which includes the Level Two restaurant and Twelve Bar lounge. "All That Jazz" is the underlying theme of the hotel redesign, incorporating Oakland's strong connection to jazz history. The intention for the design was to include sophisticated yet contemporary pieces, using bright and warm colors to accent natural elements such as wood, glass and metal.
