Where the Boys from “Looking” Went in Episode One
Hollywood has officially come to town to give people — both locals and visitors — a look into a piece of San Francisco culture. HBO's new show "Looking" follows around three friends as they traverse the LGBT/Arts/Techie culture in the city. Think "Sex and the City" meets "Girls" with a San Francisco twist.
Here are the places Patrick, Augustin, Dom and the rest of the crew went in the city in Episode 1:
Zuni Cafe is the place Dom calls work. Around since 1979, Zuni Cafe is a San Francisco staple that on any given day will host a microcosm of San Francisco culture. Under Judy Rodgers, the late chef, Zuni Cafe received the 2003 James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant in America. When you go, get roast chicken with a toasted bread salad for two — even if you're by yourself. zunicafe.com
Have yourself a Napa experience in downtown San Francisco, where Patrick goes on an awkward first date (we promise that's not always the case). Press Club, a wine bar and lounge, offers California’s finest wines and beers in a sophisticated, social atmosphere. Their menu of seasonal small plates and thoughtful pairings rounds out the ultimate wine experience. pressclubsf.com
Home to many raucous celebrations, this Mission bar/incredible party spot has been attracting a diverse mixed crowd for years. It's not just a spot to have a bachelor party. Come for the Make-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar on the weekends, the Hard French monthly party or the backyard deck, which is a perfect spot for our Indian summer. elriosf.com
