The American Bookbinders Museum was founded by commercial bookbinder Tim James, who became fascinated with the craft's history while he was amassing and upgrading his equipment. The Museum is dedicated to providing a complete experience of bookbinding history, craft, and culture. Much of the equipment works and functions just as it did in the 19th century. The exhibit floor is open to docent-led tours Tuesday - Saturday at 10am, 1pm, and 3pm. Staff and volunteer docents and artists operate the machinery and show how it works. Tours are generally one hour long. Exhibitions and Events If you would like to be added to our events list please contact infobookbindersmuseum.org.
