San Francisco's best vegetarian restaurant...
For everyone thinks that eating vegetarian means eating strange
salads, or that tofu is bland and unappetizing, Millennium proves them
wrong. Located in downtown
San Francisco right by Union Square in the
Savoy Hotel, Millennium serves primarily vegetarian and vegan (no
animal products) food in a chic and classy environment. The
restaurant is a combination of classic elegance and nouveau cuisine.
It is decorated with dark wood paneling with tall ceilings and
windows, small mirrors, and drapery muting the light, giving the
restaurant the feel of a Bohemian steakhouse. Millennium has a
relaxing and easy ambience, with soft, soothing colors and very
comfortable chairs. The restaurant has and open kitchen so you can
see the chefs at work, and the service is quick and friendly. If you
want a unique yet comfortable dining experience, definitely go to
Millennium.
Unlike most other
vegetarian restaurants, which can be very cheap and are usually poor
quality, Millennium is chic and elegant and serves very classy food.
Rather than white rolls and butter, it serves a light wheat bread with
a delicious hummus mousse, a great opener for the whole wonderfully
different dining experience. Millennium allows vegetarians to have as
many fine choices of dining and flavors as everyone else. Even if you
are not vegetarian, you will enjoy the cuisine because of the
interesting flavors and surprising combinations of ingredients along
with the friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
Millennium is a great
place to go in San Francisco because it is like nothing else; nowhere
else is fine, gourmet vegetarian served in such an upscale yet
friendly environment. You do have to be an adventurous eater and be
eager to try things you’ve never heard of, though, because the
restaurant uses a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, and
other products in its intricate dishes. Most flavors (even the Caesar
salad) are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before. There are
definitely no traditional plates at this restaurant.
