The affordably priced Grove Inn is centrally located near downtown San Francisco's urban Civic Center. The quiet and comfortable
inn was built in the 1800's and renovated in 1983. The inn is located in a historic residential district and built in Italianate Victorian style. Well served by
bus lines, the Grove Inn is located on Alamo Square's designated historic area. Eighteen rooms include high ceilings and sunny bay-style windows. A continental
breakfast is served including coffee, juice, fresh fruits, croissants, and jam. The neighborhood is home to a wide variety of beautiful
flower gardens for you to enjoy.
Parking for one-third of the Grove Inn's rooms is available for about $4 per day, so bring along a rental car.
While the Grove Inn's neighborhood is pleasant, walks to a nearby adjoining neighborhood should include extra care and caution. The Grove Inn provides
comfortable rooms with telephone and TV and is a member of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau. The proprietor is happy to
provide travel tips and is fluent in German, Italian, and Spanish. For reservations, a deposit (credit card) of one night's stay is required, which is
refundable up to 15 days before arrival.
G.Y. writes, " The Grove Inn's room was nice and the bed was comfortable. It also had a small but functional bathroom. The owner was
friendly and helpful. All in all, I would go back!"

Shannon writes, "I stayed in The Red Victorian B&B this past May while I was in San Francisco and found it to be absolutely
delightful. The rooms were very clean and well kept, and each had themes related to SF. Enough of them had their own baths that I didn't have any trouble
getting into the shared baths except when the friend I was traveling with wanted it first. A lovely breakfast was provided, it was only a block or so from
Golden Gate Park, and I didn't see rates much lower anywhere in the city. Sami Sunchild is a charming hostess, and I would wholeheartedly recommend the Red
Vic to anyone travelling to the area."

G.C. writes, "We went to the Archbishops B&B. It is a delightful older mansion, across from Alamo Square, that has great
architecture. We stayed in the Gypsy Baron room, which is really nice. Bathrooms updated, but 2 person tub to soak in. It has a great fireplace, very nice bed
and gave us much needed tranquility. The continental breakfast had great juice and scones, and was delivered to our door. Parking could be a problem, but with
today's economy I doubt it will be. They have video library, which worked for us. The room was very spacious. It is one of the more expensive ones though.
I would highly recommend it for a quiet get away. It is comparable or a bit less than some of the nicer hotels. I looked quite a bit before
I chose this place. It is highly recommended, though off the beaten path. the views of the city and park are nice as are the painted ladies nearby."
