Francisco luxury hotels, but as one of the finest places to stay in
the world. Withstanding more than seventy-five years in the heart of
the community, this family-owned and operated San Francisco hotel
property is regarded as one of the last bastions of the city's deep
historic roots.
Recent honors bestowed upon this downtown San Francisco
California hotel include: • Travel & Leisure's 2003 Award, as one of

Charles writes, "It is very
quiet, understated and well-located at the top of Nob Hill right
across from Grace Cathedral. There is a darling doorman
who has been there for 37 years. The staff is efficient and
gracious and they always try to please the customers.
The rooms
and apartments are all beautifully decorated with lots of
charm and accessories, and there is a restaurant with a piano bar
called the Big Four in the lobby. The food for room service
comes from here and it is very good as well. I have stayed there
about 6 times. Nice selection of in-room movies.
In-room safe and large windows in
all the rooms which actually open. Front rooms overlook that
small park right in front of Grace Cathedral. Apartments consist
of living room with dining L, small kitchen with full-size
refrigerator containing mini-bar type selections. One bathroom,
bedroom with lots of closet space, 2 televisions, and lots of telephones
with internet
hook-up and a fax machine in the living room. Each apartment
is decorated differently. Certain apartments also have fireplaces
in them. Charming, charming, charming...
Evidently
some people actually live there all the time. I was sick at the end of the trip this time and
late check-out was not a problem. They are very, very nice
there. Service is quite personal and they try to use your
name and sometimes even remember you from before. As I said, they always try to please their
guests and I have always been a very happy customer here.
It's kind of like going "home" each time I am in
San Francisco."
While hotel prices fluctuate rapidly-- prices
recently quoted ranged from $199-$755 with a median price quote of $335.
