G.M. recommends in April 1999, "From the outside, this hotel looks on the shabby side of average. But inside it's a
revelation (for the price, at least)! Very clean, plenty of amenities: in-room coffee-maker, cable, Jacuzzi, piece-of-shit rec room . . . there are
even a few rooms with fridges at no extra charge (or so I'm told: you have to ask for one of these in advance, and I didn't). Yes, you have to walk
through the HEART of the Tenderloin to get to the Powell St. Station, SOMA, etc., but just down the street there's a bus stop for the 31 line which
takes you straight there. The rooms are about $100/night, but they do accept Entertainment Club coupons (like $12/year), which cuts the rate in half;
and for that money, I couldn't recommend the Oasis more highly." <Editor: This is not in the Marina area, but located in the general
vicinity.>
