Margaret McDonogh is the 4th generation Captain, Owner and Operator of The Angel Island -Tiburon Ferry Company. The company was established in 1959 by her father Captain Milton McDonogh, son of Samuel McDonogh II. Previous generations of McDonoghs arrived in Tiburon and turned to the bay as a means of livelihood in the 1890s. Maggie McDonogh takes pride in what many have called a heritage run, which has been the short ferry ride from Tiburon to Angel Island. As such, the McDonogh family have become forever interwoven with the cultural fabric of the surrounding bay area communities. Maggie is often in her element showing visitors the bio diversity of the bay and telling stories that brought The Golden City to its prominence.
