Ernie Garcia Rejoins San Francisco Travel Association's Convention Sales Team

The experienced Ernie Garcia returns to San Francisco Travel as Director, Citywide Accounts.


September 27, 2022 (San Francisco) – San Francisco Travel Association, the destination marketing organization for the City and County of San Francisco, announced that Ernie Garcia has rejoined the Convention Sales Team as Director, Citywide Accounts. 

Garcia is responsible for booking Moscone Center conventions for corporate accounts in the state of California.  He brings more than 30 years of experience within the hospitality industry and has deep ties with industry organizations such as the Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA), recently being named Member of the Month, as well as Meeting Professionals International (MPI). 

Garcia rejoins the San Francisco team after spending the last 18 months with Meet Hawaii as a Senior Director, Citywide Sales, responsible for corporate citywide programs. Prior to that, Garcia spent nearly 18 years with San Francisco Travel.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Ernie back to San Francisco Travel to continue his role in bringing the state’s top conventions to the city and Moscone Center,” said San Francisco Travel Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Nicole Rogers. “Our organization is in full recovery mode, and we are pleased to have a strong team in place to help continue our return to one of the world’s most exciting destinations.” 

Garcia knows San Francisco’s tourism assets well, having worked in sales positions at Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Hyatt Regency Waikiki before his original time at San Francisco Travel. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco with a double major in marketing and finance.
