SF Travel Promotes Leonie Patrick to Vice President, Convention Sales and Kenley Moy to Vice President, Global Sales & Strategic Partnerships

Experienced team members take on greater leadership responsibility as San Francisco's convention business rebounds

Feb. 9, 2022 (San Francisco) - San Francisco Travel Association (SF Travel) announced the staff promotions of Leonie Patrick to Vice President, Convention Sales, and Kenley Moy to Vice President, Global Sales & Strategic Partnerships.

Patrick joined SF Travel in 2002 and most recently was Senior Director, Convention Sales. In her new role, she will work hand-in-hand with the City of San Francisco and The Moscone Center to serve convention clients and San Francisco’s hotel community.

In addition to booking and overseeing contracting at The Moscone Center, she will be responsible for helping set the Tourism Improvement District/Moscone Expansion District guidelines and for dispersing the Moscone Recovery Fund. Patrick will alsooversee the citywide sales team responsible for booking conventions and developing new strategies to retain and bring back large conventions.

Before joining SF Travel, Patrick started her career with Hyatt Hotels, followed by a third-party meeting planner. From 2013 until 2019, she was the point person for the $551 million Moscone Center expansion, working with all groups that used The Moscone Center.

SF Travel EVP and Chief Sales Officer Nicole Rogers said, “We are excited that Leonie is taking on this new role at such a critical time for San Francisco. Her 20 plus years of working the citywide market and her role in the Moscone Center expansion will serve her well as she leads the convention team in our quest to keep San Francisco as the top meeting destination in the world.”

I’m looking forward to bringing back our city to its rightful place—top of mind to all meeting planners and organizations.”

Kenley Moy, who joined SF Travel in 2000, most recently served as Vice President, National Sales Offices. Moy will oversee the national and international sales teams responsible for self-contained meetings in his new role.  

In addition, Moy will spearhead SF Travel’s strategic alliances with third-party meeting management companies and business event strategists. He will help mold San Francisco Travel’s presence at domestic and international tradeshows, providing customer and member stakeholders firsthand experience of San Francisco’s commitment to excellence. Moy will also develop and lead SF Travel’s strategic roadmap to regain market share and play a key role in redefining its Strategic Partnerships strategy.

Moy started his 28+ years in the hospitality industry in the hotel sector with various sales roles at leading hotel companies, including Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, and Kimpton Hotels.  

“I am eager to lead our sales team in rebuilding and growing our meetings business in 2022 and beyond and establishing stronger strategic alliances to keep San Francisco top of mind and competitive as we recover from the pandemic during this critical time,” said Moy.

“Kenley’s new role will allow San Francisco Travel Association to extend our global outreach at a time when international business is being redefined. As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, his ability to build upon and strengthen our partnerships will play a key role in our recovery. Kenley’s experience and global market knowledge make him the person to lead this critical market for San Francisco,” said Rogers.
