Founded in 1984, the Cartoon Art Museum has something for everyone--from comic strips, comic books and anime to political cartoons, graphic novels and underground comix. With a new location across from Aquatic Park, and just a half block from the Maritime Museum, Ghirardelli Square, and the Hyde Street cable car turnaround, in the quieter area of the Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood, is a cool and creative event space that might still be a bit of a secret. Whether you’re planning a company or social event, a zany product launch or a sophisticated, out-of-the-ordinary, urban wedding reception, you don’t want to overlook the Cartoon Art Museum. Affairs here aren’t merely enjoyable; they are a blast.
Your experience begins in open and windowed lobby, where guests can view the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Sausalito while examining Oxberry Filmmaker Animation Stand and a host of cartoon figures on display, with plenty of room to greet guests at our reception or create photo op area as for guests as they arrive. Beyond the lobby, galleries provide an open floor plan comprised of two main galleries and a reading room, ideal for a variety of event situations. The interior space highlights the charismatic detail of the building structure, with I-beam columns, grand redwood beams and exposed brickwork. Both galleries provide an open floor plan that can accommodate your needs.
