MYSF Insider Tips

 Spring Presidio Edition

MYSF Insider Tips

On Jan. 31, we held an event where the MYSF community explored the Presidio for a familiarization event to get an inside look into some of the most popular attractions, public art installations, dining and more. Check out some of our tips we've learned!

Join Urban Hiker even if you have visited the Presidio many times before. You will explore areas and learn secrets you never knew!

-Amanda, Guest Services

The Walt Disney Museum was a real wonder, and I had no idea you could stay at the Presidio in pretty fancy quarters.

-Bruce, Vin Deluxe Tours

Pristine and beautifully manicured. Hiking and biking trails abound with views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. The Presidio can be a refreshing refuge from the heavily populated tourist spots any time of the year. A great restaurant, (with happy hour) museums, unobstructed views that can't be beat await you in this plush parcel of San Francisco. Best of all, they have accommodations in some of the oldest and most historic buildings in the city. This could easily be your home base as you enjoy the other sites of San Francisco using the complimentary shuttle.

-Linda, MYSF Graduate

If you want to venture out for a more active day, the Sports Basement’s Presidio Bike Tour or Urban Hiker walking tours are great options. The Presidio is the hidden gem of San Francisco with activities and views that are waiting for you to discover them!

Airbnb San Francisco Locals List

Whether you're into local produce or burritos, graffiti or go-go dancing, getting lost on a hike or amongst the shelves in an old Beat hangout, feeling like a local here takes nothing more than an open mind and a healthy dose of curiosity.

Airbnb reached out to their eclectic San Francisco host community and compiled a list of their neighborhood favorites. Illustrated by Agnes Lee, The Local List will guide you through muraled alleys and reclusive vistas, from the Embarcadero to Lands End and back. Click here to check it out.
