23rd Annual Jerry Day

No one is more synonymous with the Grateful Dead than lead guitarist and San Francisco native Jerry Garcia. It's no wonder, then, that he's had his own city holiday for more than 20 years! Head to the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater on Saturday, August 2 for an afternoon of rock 'n' roll. The theater will open at 11 a.m. and the show will start at 11:30.

The fun doesn't end after the concert! On Sunday, August 3, a number of bars and restaurants in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood—where Jerry Garcia grew up—will be hosting live performances and offering special discounts.

Head to the ballpark on Monday, August 12 for an immersive game day experience filled with the iconic music of Jerry Garcia. The Bay Area psychedelic-soul collective Moonalice will perform before the first pitch. Moonalice is known for their exuberant and unique brand of rock-tinged Americana that takes inspiration from the Dead and other great acts of the 60s.

Get ready to jam with the best of the Bay’s Jam Scene, including Jay Lane & The Mayehm, Angeline Saris, Jon Chi, and more. This outdoor concert event, with plenty of local food and beverage vendors, begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8. The event is free, but capacity is limited.
