May 18, 2010 — Mary Gallagher, CMP, has been named national sales manager, Eastern Region, for the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB). Gallagher will work out of the SFCVB’s Washington, D.C., office with responsibility for producing citywide business (groups that use Moscone Center) from new and current accounts based in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. She will report to Kenley Moy, senior director of the SFCVB's National Sales Offices.
For the past eight years Gallagher has been regional director of national accounts for the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau based in Washington, D.C. Previous to that she was assistant director of sales for the Hyatt San Jose and the Hyatt Sainte Claire in San Jose. She has also been an assistant director of sales for hotels in Alexandria, VA, and Fremont, CA.
“Mary is a tremendous addition to our sales team,” says Leonard Hoops, SFCVB executive vice president & chief customer officer. “She is highly regarded by meeting professionals and her hospitality peers in the Washington, D.C., area and will be a dynamic presence for San Francisco and our hotels.”
Gallagher is currently serving a two-year term on the Capital Chapter PCMA Board of Directors. In 2006, she received the Association of Meeting Professionals' "Dick Noble Award," which has only been awarded four times to a planner or supplier in the last 20 years in recognition for service and commitment to the hospitality profession. She earned a business degree from James Madison University.
