A First-of-its-Kind Podcast Puzzle App Celebrating 60 Years of Grateful Dead in San Francisco: Weekly live challenges, rare audio clips, and S.F. history put Deadhead knowledge to the test—now on iOS and Android.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. | July 3, 2025 – Pantheon Media, in official partnership with the San Francisco Travel Association, today announced the release of Hit Replay, an interactive music-trivia app designed to guide fans through the Grateful Dead’s six-decade journey in their hometown of San Francisco. The free download app is the first digital touchpoint of the upcoming “Grateful Dead @ 60 – San Francisco Legacy Project,” a summer-long slate of podcasts, live events, and citywide activations leading up to the Golden Gate Park anniversary celebration Aug 1-3. The app is a companion piece to the limited weekly podcast series produced by Pantheon Media and hosted by Bay-Area radio legend Marla Davies. 

A Game Built for Deadheads

Hit Replay drops a fresh quiz every Thursday up through the Anniversary concerts, matching each week’s podcast episode focused on a specific decade of the Grateful Dead’s legacy. Players hear concert snippets - from the Fillmore freak-outs of ’66 to the Warfield acoustic nights of ’80 - and race the clock to correctly guess the song, venue, and year. Answers unlock bite-sized lore, archival photos, and “excavation points” that feed the player’s score.
