Dining in the Yosemite Area
Whether visiting for an extended period or just a single day, the Mariposa County area and Yosemite National Park has great dining options for every occasion and budget. After a long day of exploring, nothing beats a hearty meal at a cozy café or a family-friendly restaurant.
On the way to the park, popular entry points Mariposa, Wawona, and Fish Camp feature a number of choices, including fine dining at Tenaya Lodge's Yosemite Embers, to casual Chinese, American, and brewery options. Wine connoisseurs should make sure to check out the Ciera Wine Cellars in Mariposa for a boutique winery known featuring Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon through sustainable farming practices.
Within Yosemite Valley and the park, visitors can choose from fine dining to deli shopping for casual snacks or overnight self-catered meals. At the iconic Majestic Yosemite Hotel, the crown jewel of area dining is the Ahwahnee Dining Room, featuring a 34-foot-high beamed ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows and an imaginative menu based on traditional American cuisine. Reservations are recommended. The Lodge also features the Indian Room, with indoor and outdoor seating for more casual drinking and bar dining, often accompanied by live piano on most Friday and Saturday nights.
At the popular cabin area Curry Village, family-friendly options include the Taqueria, Pizza Deck and Bar, and a coffee shop. At Yosemite Valley Lodge, the Mountain Room Restaurant allows diners views of the Yosemite Falls while enjoying local, organic and seasonal cuisine.
