Explore Sausalito with Big Bus
Discover distinctive boutiques, a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, and unique art galleries with a Big Bus Tour to Sausalito. Dine with spectacular views of the bay, relax in the park, or explore the narrow streets in the hills of this quaint town. A premier destination and popular day trip for San Francisco visitors, Sausalito spills down its hillside locale and offers picture-perfect views of San Francisco across the bay.
A dedicated Sausalito Tour runs daily via a trolley car from the Vista Point North on the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge at 10:15 a.m. From there, the trolley first stops at Horseshoe Bay and the Bay Area Discovery Museum, an interactive and creative attraction for families and children up to eight years old set with a dramatic backdrop of the bridge. Next, is a stop at the north end of downtown Sausalito at Humboldt Avenue; from there you can walk down Bridgeway to explore the shopping, dining and views for which Sausalito is treasured. The final stop in town is the Bay Model, a public, hydraulic scale-model of the San Francisco Bay and adjoining delta system. A free audio tour is included with this attraction stop. Finally, the tour continues across the Golden Gate Bridge back to San Francisco, ending at Vista Point South. As with all Big Bus Tours, you can hop-on or hop-off at any stop to explore, shop and enjoy Sausalito on your own. A return to San Francisco on your own is made simple via a quick ferry service from Sausalito to the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero.
The Sausalito Tour is an option in Deluxe Big Bus tickets. These tours start at Fisherman's Wharf and visitors can transfer to the Sausalito trolley at Vista Point North. Or, the Sausalito Tour can be purchased as a stand-alone option, originating at the Humboldt Avenue stop in town.
