Sunset District

San Francisco's Sunset District is where the hustling innovators go for a slice of traditional California surfer style.

Locals know this neighborhood as “The Avenues." Laid out in a grid of pastel-colored row houses all the way to Ocean Beach, the Sunset's northern border is a giant green rectangle better known as Golden Gate Park.

Dragon boat crews often practice on Lake Merced close to the mystical Fort Funston, where you can see hang gliders step off into thin air. The San Francisco Zoo is Northern California’s largest and Stern Grove (19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard) is home to free summer concerts.
