Renegade Craft Fair
If you haven’t been to the Renegade Craft Fair, head down to Fort Mason Festival Pavilion this July or November. Held biannually, this premier event showcases the finest in contemporary design and crafts.
Renegade Craft Fair was born in Chicago in 2003, and now fairs are hosted in Austin, Brooklyn, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, and our City by the Bay. The fairs are filled with one-of-a-kind items from local artisans, and have become increasingly popular. Vendors are selected from a large number of applicants, and hundreds of craft-based businesses have been launched successfully out of the fairs.
Renegade Crafts Fair strives to not only bring the best vendors, but to also create a fun and inviting environment. Typically, from 11 AM to 7 PM, visitors can participate in workshops, take pictures in the photo booth, sample the food of local restaurants, enjoy custom art installations, and appreciate music played by local DJs.
Whether you’re looking for a hand painted teapot, patterned bow ties, one-of-a-kind screen printed shirts, handmade jewelry, or a custom wood block print of your neighborhood—Renegade Craft Fair has it all. Admission is free, but don’t forget your wallet! For upcoming dates and more information, visit renegadecraft.com.
Want more? The American Craft Council holds an annual show, typically the first week of August, also at Fort Mason Festival Pavilion. Featuring only the finest artisans, it’s one of the largest craft shows in the country. The show features blown glass, expert woodworking, unique furniture and lighting, and much more. Visit shows.craftcouncil.org/sf for upcoming schedules, admission prices and more information.
