American Bookbinders Museum

BookbindersFacade376 (1).jpg

The American Bookbinders Museum celebrates and shares the history, tools and processes of bookbinding from the 16th century through the changes and innovations of the 19th century. In addition to the business and craft of bookbinding, we share the stories of men, women, and children who worked in binderies. Whether you visit for a self-guided tour or one of our docent-led tours, the museum provides hands-on experiences for the curious, for makers, history-buffs, and passionate book-lovers that further their understanding of the art and science of bookbinding, and of the book's remarkable place in human history.
