Bassist, composer, and bandleader Noriyuki “Ken” Okada leads this supercharged, modern, jazz-fusion quartet, featuring several of the West Coast’s finest instrumentalists – including 15-year-old Japanese drumming phenomenon YOYOKA, a remarkably gifted young artist whose viral YouTube videos have gained millions of views. Okada and the band present the groove-heavy jazz-funk of his recent album, Square One.

An iconic artist who helped reintroduce electric blues into the pop music mainstream, guitarist, singer, songwriter, and five-time GRAMMY winner Keb’ Mo’ gained worldwide fame by embracing the country-blues style of Robert Johnson and combining it with modern blues, R&B, and soul.
Ulysses Owens Jr. and Generation Y
April 23-24
Three-time GRAMMY-winning drummer and composer Ulysses Owens Jr. is one of the busiest instrumentalists in modern jazz, a veteran of work with Christian McBride, Kurt Elling, and Gregory Porter. He presents his Generation Y ensemble of young masters over two nights in the Joe Henderson Lab, playing music from his debut with the band A New Beat.
SFJAZZ Gala 2026

SFJAZZ puts on its largest fundraiser, "Milestones: Celebrating Miles & Trane at 100", a celebratory evening honoring the centennials of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, two visionaries who changed the course of music forever. The 2026 SFJAZZ Gala will also honor guitar icon George Benson with the SFJAZZ Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating his innovation and lasting influence on generations of musicians and fans. The Gala Concert and after-party are open to the public.
