BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the fast, easy, low-cost way to get to San Francisco or other cities from SFO or OAK. The BART fare from SFO to downtown San Francisco is only $8.95, less than half the price of a shared shuttle van ($19), and $40 less than a taxi. Taking BART also avoids traffic and is only a half-hour ride from SFO or OAK to San Francisco. You can also buy round-trip tickets in advance from SFO to any city served by BART at www.bart.gov/Airport Connections page. BART is the car-free way to travel around and see the Bay Area too. Oakland International Airport (OAK) also has a new BART train service. Taking BART from OAK is the convenient, fast, inexpensive way to get to San Francisco or other cities from OAK. The 8 minute ride on sleek, new BART trains goes to the Coliseum station and connects to a BART train going to your final destination.
