Everything You Need to Know About San Francisco's Hottest New Restaurant, International Smoke
If you’ve come to experience the culinary highlights of San Francisco, there is one hot new restaurant you should know about. It will take you on a tour of the world’s tastiest grilled flavors. It's no wonder everyone's been talking about its food, its vibe, and its celebrity chefs.
International Smoke is the collaboration between Chef Michael Mina and TV host and cookbook author Ayesha Curry. You might know her as the wife of Golden State Warriors MVP Stephen Curry, but International Smoke proves that Mrs. Curry has her own all-star talents.
The restaurant combines Mina’s love for travel with Curry’s skill and passion for family dining, and it does so deliciously. Here's everything you need to know about this must-taste dining destination.
The International Smoke Experience
Stepping inside International Smoke, you’ll immediately notice the modern yet intimate vibe. Graffiti in several languages gives the modern décor an eclectic atmosphere. Seating up to 80 people, International Smoke has booths for those who want a more intimate dining setting. Candles and columns give it an extra warmth and romantic fireplace-feel.
Menu Recommendations
The International Smoke menu is as delightful as it is diverse. Curry pays homage to her mother’s Jamaican roots, with dishes infused with Jamaican seasonings. Recommended dishes include jerk spice-seasoned double duck wings, the lemongrass pork chop, and the binchōtan-grilled lobster.
Seafood lovers will enjoy the grilled shellfish: fresh oysters, shrimp, and Maine lobster tail. Other favorites include the smoked pork shoulder and American pulled pork sliders. For dessert, try the key lime pie with cinnamon toast crust. Those who want to try a bit of everything can get a great deal on the tasting menu at a reasonable $56 per person.
The bar serves up fresh, seasonal cocktails, as well as local and international brews. Up to 20 people can sit comfortably, on refined leather bar stools, at the center bar.
How to Reserve a Table
International Smoke reservations should be made far in advance. Given the popularity of Mina and Curry (and Curry's husband), the wait can be up to three months! Dinner is served from 5-9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. International Smoke can also tackle your catering requests.
