Flour + Water Named the Best Pizza Place in San Francisco

In a city where a foodie has too many choices already, life just got a little bit harder. There is already stiff competition for the city's best when it comes to seafood, burritos and dim sum, so why should pizza be any different? One pizza place that keeps topping not only the best of San Francisco lists but is frequently named one of the best places for pizza in the country is Flour + Water.

Since opening their doors in 2009 in the heart of the Mission district, Flour + Water has continued to showcase a delectable menu of pizza and pastas influenced by regional traditions throughout Italy. Here’s how Travel + Leisure describes their delicious Neopolitan pizzas:

“So this is serious pizza: light and crispy with great sauce, delicate crust, and toppings like sausage, summer squash, eggplant and Padron peppers.”

Food & Wine magazine has named their Executive Chef Thomas McNaughton a “culinary icon.” Mixing Old World dough-making techniques with modern innovation, McNaughton has created a mouth-watering menu that has recently expanded to include a meat and a fish dish nightly as well as a large-format meat option for two.

But enough with all the great reviews. The picture above really says it all. Flour + Water isn't the only place to grab a slice in town, what's your favorite? Share your answers below.

Flour + Water is located at 2401 Harrison St, San Francisco, CA 94110.
