Summer Nights at Oracle Park

There’s nothing like a summer evening at Oracle Park. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the city skyline and the East Bay. Sunset is spectacular when the Oakland hills reflect the golden California light. This summer also marks the 60th anniversary of The Giants in San Francisco with celebrations and plenty of fun swag (from Buster Hugs mugs to a Brandon Crawford lawn gnome). And if you’re a National Leaguer plan your trip to San Francisco when your favorite team is playing.

Baseball fans can experience everything from behind-the-scenes tours to the Giants Wall of Fame to the Portwalk—a scenic promenade between right field and the bay, featuring 25 bronze plaques commemorating Giants’ history. Foodies will enjoy delicious fare from Oracle Park’s eclectic concession stands, including savory porcini doughnuts, mouthwatering crab dishes, pulled pork sandwiches, Mission-style burritos and the ballpark’s renowned garlic fries. You can even order food right from your seat with the MLB Ballpark Mobile App. Kids (and the young at heart), will love shooting down the 47-foot-high super slide located just behind left field in the Coca Cola Fun Lot. There are also fun theme nights including an LGBT Night (June 21) during San Francisco Pride week celebrations.

For pre- and post-game fun, order a round at 21st Amendment Brewery, bowl a few lanes at the nearby Lucky Strike, stroll by waterfalls and flowering trees at the Yerba Buena Gardens or paddle through the bay at twilight on a guided tour with City Kayak. Even if you're not planning to catch a baseball game, you'll find plenty to do at Oracle Park—including concerts with Ed Sheeran (Aug. 21), The Eagles with Zac Brown (Sept. 20) and a Journey/Def Leppard double bill (Sept. 21). This summer, the park will host the Rugby Sevens World Cup (July 20-22), an exciting, fast-paced tournament featuring the best men and women rugby players from around the world.
