For the third year, businesses throughout San Francisco are working together to invite people in the city, from Northern California and beyond to Shop SF – Get More November 2010 through January 2011.

“San Francisco is working to ensure that its businesses remain strong and tourism thrives,” said Mayor Gavin Newsom.  “Shop SF - Get More will showcase our world-class dining, museums, events, attractions, and hotels.  It’s an opportunity to experience all the beauty and excitement of one of the greatest cities in the world.”

“When you shop San Francisco you really do get more,” said Joe D’Alessandro, president and CEO of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “You get the great selection of the big stores plus the special discoveries of unique “Only in San Francisco” shops, boutiques and galleries.  You get ‘big city’ decorations and that special atmosphere you can only experience in San Francisco.  Plus you get the tremendous diversity of events and celebrations.  And when all of that works up your appetite, you have America’s greatest dining all around you.”

The program is designed to make it easy for visitors from near and far to enjoy the diverse neighborhoods, scenic beauty and holiday atmosphere that make San Francisco unique.  Mobile Spinach and iPhone app developer HearPlanet are supporting the program through their unique mobile to social media channels.
