Intern, Marketing

The Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience in the destination marketing organization (DMO) industry while providing support to the asset creation process for a digital map and developing skills in information coordination. The intern will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Global Content & Communications in the upkeep and generation of content for our official destination website.The intern will receive comprehensive training on entry-level industry practices, key content marketing technologies, and SF Travel’s role in bringing arts-inclined and general visitors to San Francisco.

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

Training and Development Focus

  • Learn SF Travel's core systems for creating maps and editorial features
  • Gain understanding of the DMO industry and SF Travel's mission to bring leisure visitors to San Francisco
  • Develop proficiency in end-to-end content workflow from data collection through publication
  • Master asset entry processes and data management best practices
  • Use advanced tools including our CMS, Box, and Asana (capacity dependent) 

Operational Support

  • Monitor project timelines and status updates
  • Assist with bulletin processing and distribution
  • Provide administrative support to Marketing team
  • Participate in arts partner communication and coordination activities

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience 

  • Currently enrolled in college or university program
  • Interest in hospitality, tourism, arts, business, or related field
  • Previous internship or work experience preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of customer service principles
  • Compensation: $20/hour
