The Rats are Coming to the San Francisco Dungeon
The temporary Rat Cafe at the San Francisco Dungeon has closed. Please check the San Francisco Dungeon for new events.
Rat lovers and coffee drinkers rejoice - rats are infiltrating the San Francisco Dungeon this summer, and it's most certainly on purpose. The Rat Cafe opens at the San Francisco Dungeon as an immersive pop-up experience for a limited time this July 2017.
Guests will be treated to bistro-style seating and a breakfast of all-you-can-drink coffee, tea, or water, and a pastry, while surrounded by live rats. Yes, live rats. After breakfast, guests will have 15 minutes of interaction with the friendly rats to cap this "frighteningly funny encounter." Admission to the full San Francisco Dungeon experience is included in the ticket purchase.
Conveniently located in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and next door to sister attraction Madame Tussauds, the San Francisco Dungeon provides a 60-minute, live-action journey through 200 year's worth of the darker side of San Francisco and Bay Area history. Experiences include Gold Rush and Chinatown Plague, and Escape Alcatraz, featuring an exclusive underground drop-ride as you attempt to escape "The Rock."
Rats will be provided by Rattie Ratz, a Northern California non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of domestic pet rats. Rattie Ratz's "ambassador rats" will be featured at the pop-up.
The Rat Cafe will be open at 9 a.m. on Saturdays July 1 and July 8, 2017, only. Tickets for this unique experience start at $49.99 per person. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit the San Francisco Dungeon online.
